My initials, GPS, symbolize the way I approach the care and guidance I offer to our patients. As a child, I recall the difficulty my parents had trying to make sense of the complex and confusing options given to them by their dentist. I noticed how this confusion often led to distrust, fear, and anxiety over the decisions and eventual treatment rendered.
As a result, I have patterned my approach to patient care and education by being a “human GPS”, navigating our patients through the process of:
- Understanding their state of oral health.
- Determining what options are available to resolve any problems and presenting them in a clear and concise manner with respect.
- Offering advice and options to help prevent problems from recurring.
I also found that my initials made an excellent acronym to describe the manner in which I approach the care for each and every patient: GENTLE. PRECISE. SINCERE.
So whether GPS means Gary, guidance, or gentle to you, we will be sure to offer each one to all that extend the trust of their dental care to us. It is truly an honor.
